Soans Christian Academy, others accused of firing employee because she allegedly refused to falsify document

PHILADELPHIA — A individual is suing Soans Christian Academy Inc., Grace Trinity United Church of Christ, Grace Neighborhood Development Corporation and the Pennsylvania Southeast Conference United Church of Christ for alleged retaliation and wrongful termination.

Sandra Trezza filed a complaint on April 18 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendants violated the Pennsylvania Whistleblower Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was terminated from her employment for allegedly making good faith reports about the defendants' alleged wrongdoing. As a result, she claims that has suffered and will continue to suffer irreparable injuries and damages. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly retaliating against her and firing her for allegedly reporting that she had refused to falsify the eligibility of a Head Start Program applicant.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorney's fees, costs and any other appropriate relief. She is represented by Daniel S. Orlow and Laura Mattiacci of Console Mattiacci Law LLC in Philadelphia.
