Snappy's allegedly retaliated against woman who complained about sexual harassment

PITTSBURGH — An individual is suing her former employer, J.J. Powell Inc. t/a Snappy's, for alleged discrimination, retaliation and wrongful termination.

The plaintiff filed a complaint on April 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the defendant violated the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was fired in retaliation for complaining about sexual harassment in the workplace. As a result, the plaintiff claims that she suffered damages. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly treated her differently and less favorably because she had complained about allegedly being subjected to sexual harassment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages, legal fees, costs, expenses, pre- and post-judgment interest and any other equitable and injunctive relief. She is represented by David M. Koller of Koller Law LLC in Philadelphia.
