PHILADELPHIA — A surviving widow is suing McCollister Transportation Systems Inc. and various entities, citing alleged negligence and wrongful death.

Sandra Broyles, as personal representative of the estate of Don T. Browles filed a complaint on May 25, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they breached their duties to exercise reasonable care for the safety of others.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during Don Broyles' career as a waste truck driver form 1983 to 2013, he was repeatedly and chronically exposed to hazardous and carcinogenic chemicals. On or around April 3, 2017, he was diagnosed with brain tumor that ultimately led to his death on May 1, 2017.

The plaintiff holds McCollister Transportation Systems Inc. and others responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to take adequate steps to protect Don Broyles from being exposed to hazardous chemicals.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against defendants, jointly and severally, for all damages, attorney's fees, costs and such other just and proper relief. She is represented by John E. Kotsatos of Kotsatos Law PLLC in Easton.
