PITTSBURGH — A widow is suing healthcare facility operator Marian Manor Corp., making claims of negligence and wrongful death.
Virginia Rocco, individually and as executrix of the estate of the late Salvatore Rocco, filed a complaint June 13 in the Allegheny County Courts of Common Pleas, alleging that the defendant negligently deviated from the standards of care when her husband was a resident of its facility.
According to the complaint, Salvatore Rocco was admitted tot he defendant's facility on Jan. 11, 2015. Virginia Rocco claims that, as a result of the defendant's negligence, her husband suffered multiple falls that resulted in a broken neck and a hip replacement. The plaintiff alleges that Salvatore Rocco's condition continued to decline until his death on Sept. 10, 2016.
Virginia Rocco said Marian Manor allegedly failed to implement an effective care plan to keep her husband from falling and failed to provide proper and appropriate treatment and care.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and consequential damages, with interest, costs and any other appropriate relief. She is represented by Robert Daley and Michael Gianantonio of Robert Pierce & Associates PC in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
