Wrongful term 09

PITTSBURGH — An employee is suing Hersha Hospitality Management, doing business as Lacroix Restaurant at the Rittenhouse Hotel, citing alleged wrongful termination.

Adrian Matteo filed a complaint July 6 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, alleging that the restaurant violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act.

According to the complaint, Matteo told the defendant on March 22, 2017, before he was hired, that he was diagnosed with sleep-deprived epilepsy, and the restaurant hired him knowing about his disability. After suffering a seizure at work. Matteo claims he asked for a change in his schedule to accommodate his disability, but the defendant allegedly refused to grant his request and abruptly fired him.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back wages, front pay and bonuses totaling at least $150,000, plus punitive, compensatory and/or exemplary damages, costs, prejudgment interest and other relief deemed just under the circumstances.
