MEDIA — An Upper Darby woman is suing movie theater Studio Movie Grill Holdings LLC, citing alleged negligence in keeping its premises safe for the public.
Marquita Lewis filed a complaint July 12 in Delaware County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that ta doorway at the theater hit her in the face when she pushed it, causing injuries and damages.
Lewis claims the door between the lobby and the theater was dangerous because it did not have windows.
The plaintiff said the defendant should be held responsible for her injuries because it allegedly designed a dangerous lobby door, violating the laws and ordinances of Delaware County, the statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and federal and state safety regulations.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment in an amount not in excess of $50,000. She is represented by William Carlitz of William M. Carlitz PC in Philadelphia.
