SCRANTON — A customer is suing P&R Discount Grocery, P&R Discounts and P&R Discount Foods, citing alleged negligence in keeping their store's entrance and exit area safe.

Joann Jordan filed a complaint June 29 in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, alleging that the defendants allowed an unsafe condition to remain on store grounds, causing a slipping hazard.

According to the complaint, Jordan lost her balance and fell when walking out of a P&R store on July 1, 2016. As a result, Joann Jordan claims she sustained severe, permanent and disabling injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks a judgment for compensatory damages, as well as interest, costs, counsel fees and any other damages the court deems proper. She is represented by Michael Dempsey of Lenahan & Dempsey PC in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
