Consumer accuses Global Credit & Collection of deceptive practices

SCRANTON — A consumer is suing Global Credit & Collection Corp., 10 unnamed individuals and three unnamed companies, claiming the defendants failed to give notice of their collection activities.

Brian O'Boyle filed a complaint June 27 in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas, alleging tht the defendants violated the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the defendants allegedly wrongfully placed derogatory information on O'Boyle's consumer credit report without verifying the debt.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages in an amount of $13,125, an injunction against the defendants and all other proper relief. He is represented by Joseph Sucec of Joseph T. Sucec, Attorney at Law in Grantham.
