PITTSBURGH — A husband and wife filed a lawsuit against Innovative Vending Solutions LLC, a massage chair distributor, claiming he suffered neck injuries from using the automated Innovative Massage Chair for a shiatsu massage.

Robert J. Emge and Dianne Damico Emge filed a complaint on Aug. 6, in the Allegheny County Courts of Common Pleas, against Innovative Vending Solutions LLC alleging that the massage chair distributor failed to design and manufacture a shiatsu massage chair that was safe for its intended use.

The plaintiffs allege that, on March 13, Robert Emge was injured when he used the defendant's Innovative Massage Chair. He immediately felt a sharp pain in the neck area that radiated into his arm. In early summer, he was advised that he was suffering from a cervical herniation at C5-6, caused by defendant's massage chair.

The plaintiffs holds Innovative Vending Solutions LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warning of the danger associated with using their shiatsu massage chair.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount exceeding the jurisdictional limits of the court. They are represented by James L. Welsh III of The Welsh Law Group LLC in Murrysville.
