SCRANTON — Employees are suing a municipal organization, citing alleged violation of the Public Employee Relations Act.

Gary Gianacopoulus, Tom Hart and David Verrastro filed a complaint on Sept. 4 in the Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas against The Sewer Authority of the City of Scranton for an alleged violation of the Public Employee Relations Act.

According to the complaint, as employees of defendant, individual plaintiffs have requested continued pension contributions in the amount of $485.67 per month as set forth in the agreed collective bargaining agreement.

However, despite being eligible employees entitled to continue to receive contributions to the Central Pennsylvania Teamsters Pension Fund with substantial evidence to support their entitlement, defendants allegedly refused to make said payments.

The plaintiffs hold The Sewer Authority of the City of Scranton responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to continue to make pension contributions in the amount of $487.67 per month.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment for pension contributions in the amount of $487.67 per month, including interest, costs and any other appropriate relief. They are represented by Todd Eagen of Welby, Stoltenberg, Cimballa & Cook, LLC in Harrisburg.

The Lackawanna County Court of Common Pleas Case No. is 18-CV-4814.
