MEDIA — An 83-year-old widow is suing a lawyer, citing alleged defamation, invasion of privacy and trespassing.
Olympia Georges, by George A. Georges, guardian, filed a complaint on Oct. 19 in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas against Thomas Lawrie Jr., alleging violation of the Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure due to unprivileged intrusion to plaintiff's property.
According to the complaint, on June 21, Olympia Georges' property was allegedly entered by defendant without permission in order to take pictures or do whatever else he wanted to do in attempt to gain some advantage against plaintiff and her guardian in their dispute.
Plaintiff claims defendant misrepresented that she was living in "unacceptable, filthy conditions like a hermit" at her home and that she had to immediately move to an institution when, in fact, the life safety system in her home was able to provide confirmation that she was performing all Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in excess of the arbitration amount, together with actual, compensatory and punitive damages, together with attorney's fees, costs, interest, and such other relief as the court may grant.
She is represented by James Georges of Glenside.
The Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Case No. is CV-2018-008123.
