MEDIA — A man is suing Michaels Companies, an arts and crafts store operator, citing alleged negligence.

Bruce Morris filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas against Michaels Companies, alleging the arts and crafts store operator failed to maintain its premises in a reasonably safe condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 18, 2017, he was a patron at defendant's arts and crafts store in Springfield when he slipped and fell to the floor. He sustained injuries to his right arm, shoulder, neck and back, the suit says.

The plaintiff says the defendant allegedly failed to respond to complaints of a dangerous condition and failed to barricade the area or to provide adequate warning of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment in his favor for a sum greater than $50,000. He is represented by Brian Pincus of Kanter, Bernstein & Kardon PC in Philadelphia.
