Treatment center in West Easton battling over methadone

PHILADELPHIA — A patient treatment center claims it was not permitted to use methadone for patients in need of it.

West Easton Two LP filed a complaint on Feb. 25 in the District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Borough Council of West Easton and Borough of West Easton.

According to the complaint, defendant denied the plaintiff usage of methadone at its Borough Plaintiff Treatment Center, despite it being needed to treat some of the patients. The plaintiff submitted a conditional use application but the application was denied despite the help it would lend to those suffering from drug and alcohol addictions.

The defendant is accused of violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by John Harrison of Broughal & DeVito LLP in Bethlehem.
