Fox Rothschild LLP issued the following announcement on April 15.

Fox Rothschild LLP is pleased to announce that Stephanie Resnick, Joshua Horn, Jeffrey T. Sultanik and Brian A. Berkley are named 2019 Professional Excellence honorees by The Legal Intelligencer in the following award categories:

Lifetime Achievement – Stephanie Resnick

Distinguished Leaders – Joshua Horn

Power Lawyers – Jeffrey T. Sultanik

Lawyers on the Fast Track – Brian A. Berkley

The Lifetime Achievement award recognizes industry professionals who have “left an imprint on the legal history of the state during their career.”

Resnick is a nationally ranked litigator who for three decades has blazed a trail for women in the law, both within the firm and in the legal community. The former chair of Fox’s Litigation Department, she is currently Managing Partner of the Philadelphia office and Chair of the Directors’ & Officers’ Liability & Corporate Governance Group. Resnick was among the first wave of women to reach the pinnacle of corporate litigation as lead attorney for Fortune 500 clients in bet-the-company cases. Her courtroom wins and case results have placed her on the most important lists of leading lawyers and earned her accolades from clients and colleagues. She is recognized by Chambers USA, Benchmark Litigation and Best Lawyers in America, and is a recipient of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Sandra Day O’Connor Award and The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Influencer of Law Award. She earned her J.D. from Villanova University and her A.B. from Kenyon College.

The Distinguished Leaders award honors those “who achieved impressive results in the past year and demonstrated clear leadership skills.”

Horn is Co-Chair of the firm’s nationally recognized Cannabis Law Group. Lauded by The National Law Journal as a Trailblazer in Cannabis Law and ranked by Chambers USA as a leading lawyer in Cannabis, Horn centers his practice on identifying and structuring services for the cannabis industry, from corporate, banking and finance advice to litigation, regulatory matters and tax guidance. In 2018, Horn testified before the Philadelphia City Council when it needed to understand the employment law implications of legalized medical marijuana. He is now consulting with the Council as issues arise regarding the intersection of cannabis and employment law. He earned his J.D. from Widener University School of Law and his B.A. from Skidmore College.

Power Lawyers are attorneys who “made a significant impact in 2018 on public policy, legislation or jurisprudence in Pennsylvania.”

Sultanik, Chair of the firm’s Education Law Group, has represented dozens of Pennsylvania school districts on everything from teacher contract negotiations to special education law and civil rights matters. In 2018, he resolved at least five difficult teacher contract disputes, achieving results that protected taxpayers and the quality of education in multiple school districts. Sultanik is a frequent speaker and writer who has authored more than 130 articles on education and labor law. He earned his J.D. from Hofstra University and his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

The Lawyers on the Fast Track award “celebrates the next generation of legal leaders.”

Berkley is a partner in the Litigation Department whose practice centers on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on trademark, trade secrets, non-compete agreement disputes, and international and domestic arbitrations. His most recent victories in his long track record of securing successful results for his clients include obtaining an early dismissal with prejudice of an antitrust suit, securing a preliminary injunction protecting tens of millions of dollars of trademark product, and negotiating a settlement of class action claims for less than 5% of the eight-figure exposure. He is an adjunct professor at Rutgers School of Law-Camden, teaching arbitration law. As a leader in the civil defense bar, Berkley serves as co-chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation’s Business Torts and the Unfair Competition Committee. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Washington and Lee University and his B.A. from Bucknell University.
