PITTSBURGH – A Munhall resident has filed a wrongful death suit against the owners and operators of a Pittsburgh nursing facility.

Kamahlai Bulger, administratrix of the estate of Janice Bulger, deceased filed a complaint on in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against HCR Manorcare LLC, doing business as Manorcare Health Services -- Pittsburgh Manor Care of America Inc., and others, alleging wrongful death.

According to the complaint, Janice Bulger, the plaintiff's mother, was a patient at the defendants' facility located at 550 South Negley Ave., Pittsburgh. The suit states Janice Bulger was trying to adjust herself in bed on Aug. 4, 2017, and was caused to fall from her bed onto the floor and sustained injuries to her spine. The injuries she sustained allegedly ultimately led to her death on Aug. 11, 2017.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to monitor Janice Bulger.

The plaintiff is seeking $35,000, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Balzarini & Watson.
