PHILADELPHIA – A Philadelphia woman with cerebral palsy is suing JetBlue after she was allegedly injured while being transported to her seat by an employee.

Altagracia Sanchez filed a complaint in Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas against JetBlue Airways Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was traveling with her mother and was boarding JetBlue Flight 893 on Sept. 7, 2017. The plaintiff has cerebral palsy and her mother requested a wheelchair to take the plaintiff to her seat. The suit states instead of bringing a wheelchair, one of the defendant's employees attempted to carry the plaintiff and dropped her while doing so.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained a left clavicle fracture and tear of the rotator cuff, which required surgery to repair.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Jared S. Zafran of the Law Office of Jared S. Zafran in Philadelphia.

The defendant removed the case to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Aug. 6.
