Former tenant of RKR Investments property alleges she was bitten by bed bugs

MEDIA – A former tenant of an Upper Darby property alleges the unit was infested with bed bugs.

Amanda Barnes filed a complaint Aug. 27 in the Delaware County Court against RKR Investments LLC, Rajankutty Kezhakechari and John Does 1-3 alleging breach of contract and breach of warranty. 

According to the complaint, the plaintiff and her 5-month-old son moved into the defendants' Upper Darby rental property on March 5, 2018. She alleges the night she moved in, she was bitten twice by bed bugs. The suit states an exterminator determined on May 4, 2018, there was a bed bug infestation in the unit and she vacated the premises on June 15, 2018.

The plaintiff alleges she lost her job because she took three days off of work because of the bites. She alleges the defendants failed to maintain the premises.

The plaintiff is an amount of less than $50,000. The plaintiff is represented by Nicholas J. Renzi of Adams Renzi Law in Philadelphia.
