Tumble on escalator results in lawsuit against Dick's Sporting Goods

PITTSBURGH – A Pittsburgh man is suing a sporting goods store over allegations he was injured due to a faulty escalator. 

Altimease Tann filed a complaint Sept. 17 in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas against Dick's Sporting Goods Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was at the defendant's facility in the Robinson Mall on April 6, 2018, and was using the escalator when it suddenly stopped. He alleges he was caused to be thrown head first in to the person in front of him and was injured.

The plaintiff alleges the defendant failed to maintain the premises and the escalator.

The plaintiff is seeking all reasonable sums due, attorney fees and court costs. The plaintiff is represented by Michael Santicola of Santicola, Steele & Fedeles PC.
