PITTSBURGH – A Pennsylvania man alleges a California business illegally called him for marketing purposes.
Stewart Abramson, individually and on behalf of a class of all persons and entities similarly situated, filed a complaint Dec. 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against The Advisory Group LLC doing business as Tax Advisory Group, Tax Law Advocates and Tax Law Advisory, and Jeff Khatib alleging violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
Abramson alleges in his complaint that he began to receive pre-recorded telemarketing calls from the defendants on Oct. 30, who attempted to sell him tax-preparation services. He alleges he never provided consent to receive the calls, which invaded his privacy and "distracted, frustrated and annoyed" him.
Abramson seeks punitive damages, a trial by jury and all other proper relief. He is represented by Clayton Morrow of Morrow & Artim PC in Pittsburgh and Anthony Paronich of Paronich Law PC in Hingham, Massachusetts.
