HARRISBURG – A food services employee at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course who is a lesbian says she was treated unfairly after it became known she was in a relationship with another woman.

Kimberly Bonner’s Sept. 14 lawsuit in Harrisburg federal court says she was in a relationship with a cow-worker during her five months as a cashier at Penn National. Before her supervisors found out, she had no performance warnings but she was fired two months later, she says.

Bonner says supervisors made derogatory comments, cursed at her, didn’t allow her bathroom breaks when her register was covered and toyed with her hours.

“Finally, in or about December 2019, Ms. Bonner was terminated allegedly for untrue and pretextual reasons related to alleged conduct back in October 2019; however, Ms. Bonner never received any warning, written notice or reprimands in October indicating that she had done anything wrong,” the suit says.

Attorneys at Weisberg Cummings are handling her case.
