Greenberg Traurig LLP issued the following announcement on Dec. 1.

David G. Mandelbaum, co-chair of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Environmental Practice, will speak at the Ninth Annual Advanced DC Conference on Litigating Natural Resource Damages, to be held virtually on Dec. 10 and 11.

Hosted by Law Seminars International, the national conference will explore recent developments in Natural Resources Damage (NRD) policy and enforcement. The event will include presentations from federal and state policymakers, and panels featuring senior government officials from the Department of Justice, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), the Department of Interior, states, private companies, lawyers, and scientists.

Mandelbaum will participate as a panelist in the session, “When All Else Fails - How to Litigate and Win NRD Cases,” on Dec. 11 at 11:15 am EST. The panel of experienced lawyers for trustees and defendants will discuss tactics for winning NRD cases, which tend to settle but can often proceed to trial.

Mandelbaum teaches Superfund, and Oil and Gas Law in rotation at the Temple Law School. He will teach Environmental Litigation this coming semester at Suffolk Law School in Boston, and is a regular writer and speaker on these subjects. He is a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers.
