LANCASTER - A Leola woman sued the franchisee of the Lilitz McDonalds as well as McDonald's Inc. after she says she was seriously injured falling in the parking lot, according to documents filed on Feb. 9 in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.

Plaintiff Claudia Arbelaez was parking in the lot for the Woodfield Drive McDonald's owned and operated by Chrishelle, Inc. and Suarez Enterprises, inc. on March 6, 2019. She says in the lawsuit that, while exiting her vehicle, she fell suddenly on ice in the parking lot that she was not aware of.

The lawsuit says that the defendants' failure to maintain the lot had created "hills and ridges" of ice.

Arbelaez is seeking at least $50,000 in damages from the defendants for her injuries and suffering. She is represented by Haggerty, Goldberg, Schleifer and Kupersmith.
