Man demands more than $200K from Henkel of West Hazelton after he falls in parking lot

Federal Court
Ice

PHILADELPHIA - A West Hazelton retailer is called to court by a Florida man who allegedly slipped on ice in the store's parking lot.

Plaintiff Kem Beaty of Jennings visited defendant Henkel Corporation at its 125 Jaycee Drive West Hazelton location on January 21, 2020, says a February lawsuit filed in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. Beaty says he was directed by Henkel employees to park in a certain location to pick up his order and exited his vehicle as instructed.

Upon exiting, Beaty says he slipped on a layer of ice and snow, sustaining injuries.

Henkel is sued for negligence and loss of consortium; Beaty seeks damages in excess of $200,000. He is represented by Ostroff Injury Law PC.

The defendant removed the case to Philadelphia federal court in March.
