Pittsburgh dragging its heels in transfer of property to investment company, lawsuit says

State Court
Pitt

PITTSBURGH - An investment company sued the City of Pittsburgh for allegedly not transferring the title of a property purchased in auction in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas.

According to the complaint filed on April 15, plaintiff Creative Solutions Investments LLC purchased the property at 1431 Adams St. in Pittsburgh and paid the City almost $20,000 for the property.

The plaintiff has been maintaining the property and paying taxes on it assuming ownership had been transferred.

More than 18 months have elapsed since the Treasurer's sale where the property was purchased and Creative Solutions says the city has neglected to transfer the title to the property.

The investment company says it has lost out on offers to purchase the property because of the city's negligence.

Pittsburgh is charged with mandamus and specific performance; the plaintiff requests the court order the city transfer the property and pay appropriate damages.

Creative Solutions Investments is represented by Gross and Patterson LLC of Pittsburgh.
