Personal injury claim filed against liquor store after metal falls off door

State Court

MEDIA - Printz Beverage in Essington faces a personal injury lawsuit after a metal piece on the liquor store's front door allegedly fell and struck a customer in the head.

The complaint was filed on May 7 by plaintiff Shawn Havard of Essington in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas against Printz Property LLC, RMEN Inc., Essington Beverage Inc., Printz Beverage and property owner Rachit Desai.

Havard says he visited the liquor store on January 16, 2020. While exiting, the metal connector arm on the top hinge of the door fell and hit Havard in the head, causing injury to the head, neck and right shoulder, the suit says.

The defendants are each charged for personal injury, totaling at least $200,000 in damages requested by the plaintiff.

Havard is represented by Spear, Greenfield, Richman, Weirz and Taggart PC of Philadelphia.
