Lawsuit: Woman injured while at resort party after display falls on her head

Heritage

LANCASTER — A woman claims she was injured while attending a Halloween party at Heritage Hills Resort when a heavy display fell and struck her in the head.

Bryana Zurad filed a complaint June 7 in the Court of Common Pleas for Lancaster County against Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center, alleging premises liability.

Zurad alleges in her complaint that she was attending a Halloween Party on Oct. 26, 2019, at Heritage Hills Inn. She claims that she participated in a competition and was asked by the defendants' employees to step towards the fireplace in front of the bar and that as she stood in front of the fireplace, a heavy Halloween display fell on her and struck her in the head.

Zurad alleges she suffered injuries to her head, neck, scalp and has suffered from vision changes, headaches/migraines. She further alleges the defendants failed to keep their premises in a reasonably safe condition and failing to warn her of the danger of the heavy display. Zurad claims the defendants were also negligent for failing to make sure the display was securely attached.

Zurad seeks monetary relief of more than $50,000, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by James Turner, Jr., of Furia and Turner LLC in Media.
