MEDIA — A police officer who was attacked by a Rottweiler while responding to a call at a mobile home park is claiming the dog owner's and mobile home park's negligence.

Robert Lopez filed a complaint Aug. 23 in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County against Lee Aiken and Parkview MHP LLC alleging negligence.

According to his complaint, Lopez was working as a police officer in Trainer Borough on Aug. 22, 2019. He alleges that while responding to a loose dog call at the Parkview Mobile Home Park, a large Rottweiler latched onto his arm and caused him to suffer three large bites/lacerations that required transport to Crozer Chester Medical Center.

Lopez claims he was forced to discharge his duty weapon three times until the dog released his arm and died. He alleges Aiken's negligence for knowing of the dog's dangerous propensities but still allowing it to roam the property. Lopez further alleges that Parkview was negligent for failing to properly manage its mobile home park and failing to supervise its residents and make sure their animals were confined.

Lopez seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief. He is represented by Michael Malarick of The Law Office of Michael T. Malarick in Boothwyn.
