PITTSBURGH — A man claims he was intentionally punched in the head by another player during a soccer tournament and suffered facial fractures and other injuries.

Seth Winters filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Anthony Orland Crivelli alleging battery, assault and negligence.

Winters alleging in his complaint that he and Crivelli were playing soccer in an adult soccer tournament on Dec. 28, 2019, at the Family Sports Center on Evans City Road in Butler County. He claims that as he was defending, he collided with Crivelli as they both approached the ball.

Winters further claims that while he was on the ground, Crivelli kicked the ball away in an attempt to score a goal when the game was paused. He alleges that after standing up, Crivelli then punched him in the side of the head which caused him to fall back down to the ground.

Winters claims as a result of the attack, he suffered three facial fractures, facial nerve damage, bruises, abrasions, mental anguish and incurred medical treatment expenses. He alleges Crivelli's actions were intentional, harmful and offensive and amount to battery and assault.

Winters seeks monetary relief, trial by jury and all other just relief. He is represented by Joshua Geist of Goodrich & Geist PC in Pittsburgh.
