PITTSBURGH — A man who allegedly tripped over a raised electrical outlet at a medical marijuana retail outlet in Pittsburgh is claiming negligence.

John and Jacqueline Tatum filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Keystone Relief Centers LLC doing business as Solevo Wellness Center and The Buncher Company Inc., alleging negligence.

John Tatum was at the defendants' business on Oct. 1, 2019, according to the complaint. The plaintiffs claim that as Tatum walked across the floor, he tripped and fell over a raised electrical outlet on the floor and suffered injuries including a rotator cuff tear, sprains, strains and injuries to his hand and arm. They further claim his injuries have caused him to suffer psychological trauma and to spend large sums on medical treatment.

The plaintiffs allege the defendants' negligence for designing, constructing and maintaining its premises in a manner that posed unreasonable risk of injury. The plaintiffs also allege the defendants failed to warn of the hazardous condition or cordon off the area to prevent a danger and also failed to inspect its premises and remove the unsafe condition.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief and all other just relief. They are represented by G. Christopher Apessos of Apessos Law LLC in Pittsburgh.
