Scott D. Crumley, an attorney with nearly 20 years of experience in real estate transactional matters and an emphasis on leasing deals, has joined Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department in the firm’s Philadelphia office.
Mr. Crumley advises owners and developers as well as end users of commercial space on the full range of transactional real estate matters. He represents both landlords and tenants in leasing office, industrial, and retail space. He prepares and negotiates construction and design contracts, and serves as counsel for acquisitions, sales, and other dispositions of commercial property in various asset classes.
Prior to joining Ballard Spahr this month as senior attorney, Mr. Crumley served as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer of Tactix, a leading Philadelphia area-based commercial real estate brokerage. He spent more than a decade as a commercial real estate broker, mainly representing tenants and other end users in leasing and other transactions involving office and industrial properties. This experience and perspective, along with deep knowledge of the law and commercial real estate market, enable Mr. Crumley to identify and address issues facing corporate occupiers of real estate, particularly in the office sector.
Ballard Spahr’s Real Estate Department is a recognized national leader, with more than 110 attorneys across the country, serving clients in every segment of the industry. The firm’s real estate attorneys have shepherded major commercial, residential, and mixed-use projects through all stages of development—from zoning and land use through acquisition, construction, and lease-up.
