PITTSBURGH — The parents of a child who allegedly struck another minor while sledding down a hill at a park in Oakdale are facing a negligence lawsuit.

T.H., a minor, by and through his parents and natural guardians, Todd Heufelder and Julie Heufelder, filed a complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against Jeffrey S. Keslar and Michelle L. Keslar alleging negligence.

According to the plaintiffs' complaint, T.H., and his father were at North Fayette Township Park in Oakdale on Jan. 17, 2022. They claim T.H. and his father were standing at the bottom of a hill when the Keslar's son suddenly came down the hill on a sled at a high rate of speed and struck T.H.'s leg, which caused him to fly into the air.

The plaintiffs allege T.H. suffered a spinal fracture, bruises and contusions as well as other injuries which required surgery and which have caused them to incur large medical bills. They claim the defendants were negligent for failing to supervise their child and allowing him to sled down the hill.

The plaintiffs seek monetary relief, trial by jury and all other just relief. They are represented by Richard Talarico of Woomer & Talarico in Pittsburgh.
