Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Craig L. Finger and Michael S. Harrington on their selection to the Philadelphia Business Journal’s highly competitive Best of the Bar list featuring top lawyers in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Chosen by the Business Journal’s editorial board and three independent judges, the list recognizes attorneys in a variety of practice areas based on their recent achievements and the impact their work has had in the business community. Finger and Harrington were named in the Pro Bono and Corporate categories, respectively.

Finger is honored for leading a team that represented Philadelphia Youth Basketball, Inc. in the real estate acquisition, financing and corporate structuring of a $30 million basketball and community empowerment center in North Philadelphia that promises to transform the Nicetown section. In December 2021, ground was broken for the Alan Horwitz Sixth Man Center, a 100,000-square-foot facility on Wissahickon Avenue that aims to bring hope and opportunity to disadvantaged youth in the neighborhood. The center will feature seven basketball courts, a 1,200-seat stadium court, five classrooms, an 80-person civic dialogue arena, retail businesses and financial literacy and planning services. Finger, in collaboration with Fox partner Jacqueline Motyl, handled the complex legal and financial structuring necessary to bring the massive transaction together.

Harrington, a recognized presence in Philadelphia’s venture capital, technology and entrepreneurial community, is featured for spearheading a team that served as M&A counsel to Alliance Pharma, Inc. and its founder, Dr. Feng Li, in its sale to Ampersand Capital Partners, a leading, middle-market private equity firm with more than $2 billion of assets under management dedicated to growth-oriented investments in the health care sector. Harrington’s representation of Alliance began in 2007 when Dr. Li shared his vision of creating an industry-leading contract research organization that would specialize in advanced bioanalytical research services for both small and large molecule drugs, as well as drug metabolism studies to support pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies’ drug discovery and development programs. During the ensuing 15 years, Harrington and his team helped Dr. Li execute on his vision while serving as outside general counsel for Alliance, handling all legal needs including financings, acquisitions, divestitures, hiring and workplace issues, commercialization and strategic partnerships. The transaction closed on November 18, 2021.
