PHILADELPHIA — A sex trafficking victim claims the owners of an Econo Lodge in Lancaster failed to see the obvious signs of illegal activity on their premises.

T.F. filed a complaint Sept. 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Harikrupa Lancaster Hospitality LLC n/k/a SSN West Atlantic City and Guruki Inc., alleging sex trafficking and other claims.

The plaintiff alleges in her complaint that she was victimized at the defendant's hotel, the Econo Lodge, in Lancaster from 2012 to 2015. She claims she was forced to engage in sexual activities on the premises in rooms rented by her traffickers.

She further claims while at the hotel, she was forced to engage in frequent use of drugs and alcohol and would "exhibit behavior consistent with someone who was under the influence or near overdose." The plaintiff alleges the defendant's employees knew or should have known of the suspicious activity that included the room being full of suspicious people; women and children leaving the room impaired and malnourished and with bruises; cash; drug paraphernalia; condoms; and people with no luggage.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief. She is represented by Renee Franchi of Andreozzi + Foote PC in Harrisburg and Randolph Janis of Douglas and London PC in New York City.
