National law firm Eckert Seamans has appointed Joshua D. Hill as Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. In his role as Chair, Hill will oversee the pro bono efforts across all firm offices, which includes thousands of hours of service firmwide each year for organizations such as Neighborhood Legal Services, the Pittsburgh Pro Bono Partnership, Support Center for Child Advocates, Philadelphia VIP, the Veterans Consortium Pro Bono Program, and local Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts programs. He assumes the role following the stepping down of former Chair David M. Laigaie.
“We are thrilled to have Josh step into this leadership position for the firm’s pro bono efforts,” said Laigaie. “We are confident in his ability to guide our attorneys as they strive to uphold the firm’s commitment to pro bono work, and to grow the firm’s opportunities to serve the community.”
Hill focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, government investigations, and white-collar criminal defense matters. He also counsels clients in a wide range of industries concerning export controls and international trade regulations and regularly assists clients concerning the changing rules and regulations involved in doing business in Iran and Cuba.
Hill is a volunteer attorney with the Support Center for Child Advocates and Philadelphia VIP and served as a volunteer mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Prior to joining Eckert Seamans, he served as a public defender with the Defender Association of Philadelphia.
