A Pennsylvania woman has filed a lawsuit against a Florida-based property management company, alleging negligence that led to her severe injuries. Jennifer Bowers lodged the complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County on August 8, 2022, targeting City Facilities Management (FL), LLC.

According to the court documents, Bowers claims she was lawfully present at a Wal-Mart located at 400 Butler Commons in Butler, PA when she slipped and fell on water in the freezer section. The incident occurred around noon on August 6, 2022. Bowers alleges that City Facilities Management (FL), LLC, which is responsible for maintaining the premises, failed to uphold their duty to keep the area safe for customers. "Defendants knew or under the reasonable exercise of diligence should have known of the dangerous condition," reads the complaint.

The lawsuit details several specific accusations against City Facilities Management (FL), LLC. These include failing to clean up the liquid substance on the floor, neglecting periodic inspections of the premises, and not providing adequate warnings about potential hazards. Bowers contends that these failures directly led to her fall and subsequent injuries. She describes suffering from serious and permanent personal injuries including lower back pain, leg pain, tingling sensations from her upper thigh to foot, and weakness in her right leg.

Bowers further claims that these injuries have caused her significant financial detriment due to medical expenses and loss of earnings. She also mentions enduring great anguish, pain, sickness, agony, embarrassment, emotional distress, permanent scarring and disfigurement as a result of the incident.

In her complaint, Bowers seeks judgment against City Facilities Management (FL), LLC for an amount exceeding $75,000. She requests compensation for medical costs incurred and anticipated future expenses related to her rehabilitation. Additionally, she demands reparation for lost earnings and diminished earning capacity resulting from her injuries.

Representing Jennifer Bowers are attorneys Marc I. Simon and his colleagues Ryan M. Flaherty, Amanda L. Nese, Ashley Henkle, and Jessica Thimons from Simon & Simon P.C., based in Pittsburgh.
