Thomas Wilkinson Appointed to the ABA Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility

Thomas Wilkinson, a member of the firm’s Legal Profession Services practice, has been appointed to the American Bar Association (ABA) Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility for a three-year term from 2024-2027. The Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility issues ethics opinions interpreting the Model Rules of Professional Conduct and the Model Code of Judicial Conduct. ABA Formal Opinions have been cited as persuasive when courts around the nation interpret state-adopted Rules of Professional Conduct.

Tom concentrates his practice on business litigation, business torts, appellate, complex insurance coverage, and lawyer professional responsibility matters. He has substantial experience advising lawyers and law firms on risk management and professional liability issues. He also has been retained and accepted as an expert witness in attorney professional liability and responsibility cases in state and federal courts. Tom has experience representing lawyers and judges in disciplinary proceedings. He also has been appointed as a neutral mediator and discovery master. Tom has just completed service as a member of the ABA Board of Governors and previously held the position of Pennsylvania State Delegate to the ABA House of Delegates. He has served as an appointed member of the ABA Standing Committee on Professionalism and the ABA Task Force on International Trade in Legal Services. He is also active in the Section of Litigation's Ethics and Professionalism Committee. He is a past president of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and past chair of its Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility Committee.
