Carl Stevens has filed a lawsuit against Firestone Complete Auto Care LLC, alleging negligence and violations of the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. The complaint was filed on November 18, 2024, in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Stevens claims that Firestone's improper service on his vehicles led to significant mechanical failures and financial losses.

According to the complaint, Carl Stevens visited Firestone's Allison Park location on June 14, 2023, for new tires and an alignment for his Toyota Tundra. Despite being charged for the service, the alignment was not performed due to a purportedly faulty tie rod. This oversight resulted in premature tire wear. Further complications arose after Stevens returned to Firestone on November 3, 2023, for an exhaust system replacement costing $4,716. Within days, the exhaust tailpipe detached from the vehicle. Subsequent visits to Firestone failed to resolve ongoing issues with O2 sensors and headlamps.

Stevens' troubles extended to his Lexus NX200T following a service at Firestone on March 5, 2024. After paying $2,538 for a comprehensive inspection and brake job in preparation for a road trip, he experienced brake failure while driving at highway speeds in West Virginia. The right front brakes seized due to improperly torqued caliper bolts installed by Firestone technicians. A dealership inspection revealed numerous installation errors requiring immediate correction.

Stevens accuses Firestone of breaching their duty of care by employing unskilled mechanics who performed substandard repairs on his vehicles. He seeks compensatory damages for repair costs totaling approximately $3,710 and treble damages under the UTPCPL for deceptive trade practices. Stevens also demands attorney fees and other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Carl Stevens is attorney Vincent J. Krawiec from Very Law PLLC in Pittsburgh. The case is identified as No.CVPDD008S262F657 in the Civil Division of Allegheny County's Court of Common Pleas.
