In a dramatic legal move, a couple has filed a lawsuit against a local restaurant and its operators following an incident that allegedly resulted in severe injuries. On March 20, 2023, Susan Arensmeyer was reportedly injured due to unsafe conditions at the premises of Not Just Wings in Glenolden, Pennsylvania. The complaint was filed by Susan and Richard Arensmeyer on an unspecified date in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas against Not Just Wings and associated parties.

The plaintiffs, Susan and Richard Arensmeyer, allege that on the evening of March 20th, Susan was exiting the restaurant when she tripped over a mat outside the door. The fall caused her to sustain significant injuries including trauma to her face, nose, hand, knee, leg, and nervous system. The lawsuit claims that these injuries have resulted in ongoing pain and suffering for Susan Arensmeyer and have impeded her ability to perform daily activities. Jeffrey M. Rosenbaum of Rosenbaum and Associates represents the plaintiffs.

The defendants named in the lawsuit include Not Just Wings; Bernraf Inc., which operates under the name Not Just Wings; Efstathios Rafailidis; Odyssefs Akranis; and several unnamed individuals referred to as John Does I-III. The complaint accuses these parties of negligence for failing to maintain safe premises. Specific allegations include neglecting to inspect or repair hazardous conditions such as the defective mat, inadequate lighting around the area, and failure to warn patrons about potential dangers.

The Arensmeyers are seeking damages exceeding both arbitration limits and federal jurisdictional limits for diversity cases. They argue that due to negligence on part of the defendants, they have incurred substantial financial losses from medical expenses related to treating Susan's injuries. Additionally, Richard Arensmeyer claims loss of companionship due to his wife's incapacitation.

This case underscores significant issues regarding premises liability laws which require property owners to ensure safety for visitors. It highlights how lapses in maintenance can lead to serious legal repercussions if they result in harm.

Representing the plaintiffs is attorney Jeffrey M. Rosenbaum from Rosenbaum and Associates P.C., based in Philadelphia. The case is being heard at Delaware County Court of Common Pleas under Case ID NO.,CV2024011357.
