A tenant has filed a lawsuit against her property management company, alleging negligence that led to severe injuries. Martherline Ahoussouhe lodged the complaint in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County on January 29, 2025, targeting Parkview Court Associates LLC and Mid America Management Corp.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on September 29, 2021, when Ahoussouhe was injured by a collapsing bathroom sink in her apartment at 2000 Alfred Drive, Yeadon, PA. The plaintiff claims that the defendants were responsible for maintaining the premises and failed to address a dangerous condition—an improperly installed and unsecured sink—that resulted in serious orthopedic and neurological injuries. According to the complaint, "the dangerous condition presented an unreasonable risk of harm," leading to Ahoussouhe's permanent injuries.

Ahoussouhe's legal team argues that both Parkview Court Associates LLC and Mid America Management Corp., along with a fictitious John Doe representing unknown parties involved in property management, neglected their duty to ensure safe living conditions. The plaintiff accuses them of failing to maintain the premises adequately, which included not properly installing or securing the bathroom sink despite having prior knowledge of its hazardous state. This alleged negligence is said to have caused "serious, painful and permanent" injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment.

In her complaint, Ahoussouhe outlines various allegations against the defendants: allowing a defective sink to remain unfixed, neglecting necessary repairs despite being aware of potential dangers, and failing to provide adequate warnings about the unsafe condition. She contends that these failures violated multiple ordinances and statutes within Pennsylvania law.

The plaintiff seeks damages exceeding $50,000 from each defendant for their roles in her injuries. She demands compensation for medical expenses incurred due to surgeries and treatments required after the incident. Additionally, she claims non-economic losses such as pain and suffering resulting from her physical impairments.

Represented by Louis B. Himmelstein & Associates P.C., with attorneys Louis B. Himmelstein and Mark Wesoski spearheading her case, Ahoussouhe aims for accountability from those she holds responsible for compromising her safety at home. The case is filed under Case ID: No. CV2025000898, with proceedings set before judges at Delaware County's Court of Common Pleas.
