A computer technician is suing the Stroudsburg School Board, alleging it did nothing when he complained of racial harassment.

Antoine Acevedo filed a lawsuit Oct. 19 in U.S. District Court of the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the Stroudsburg School District, alleging it failed to protect him from racial discrimination and harassment as well as violation of due process.

According to the complaint, the district was aware of Acevedo's complaints regarding various instances of racial discrimination and harassment from fellow employees.

The plaintiff alleges he was the victim of multiple instances of racial harassment, vocal and physical threats, and that he requested hearings with the school board on three occasions, all of which were denied. The suit says Acevedo was later terminated without cause of notice and denied time owed as well as assistance with locating a new job.

Acevedo seeks forward and back pay, compensatory and punitive damages, pain and suffering, including general and specific damages according to proof and trial by jury. He is representing himself.

U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania case number 3:15-cv-2035.
