SCRANTON, Penn. – A Hazel Township woman is suing General Motors alleging her injuries during an accident could have been prevented.
Amy Bodnar and her husband, James Bodnar, Jr., filed a lawsuit on Thursday in Pennsylvania Middle District Court against General Motors, LLC., alleging a vehicle manufactured by the company failed to properly protect Amy Bonard during a car accident.
The Bodnars allege that on Jan. 6, Amy Bodnar was involved in a car accident on Interstate 81 in Kline Township, when her 2004 Chevy Trailblazer left the roadway and struck another vehicle. The Bodnars claim despite being properly restrained Amy was seriously injured due to the vehicle not being reasonably crashworthy. The Bodnars allege General Motors knew of other safety features available for the vehicle and were negligent to modify accordingly.
The Bodnars are seeking actual damages, pre-judgment and post-judgment interest beginning at the date of the incident, cost of suit, and any other relief the court sees fit. The Bodnars are represented by Edward P. McNelis in Hazleton, Pennsylvania.
