PHILADELPHIA – An ex-customer service agent at Greyhound claims that she was consistently harassed by a co-worker and management, in an attempt to sweep the matter under the rug, unjustly fired her.

Dorriea M. Lee filed a lawsuit on Nov. 16 against Greyhound Lines Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, citing gender discrimination and retaliation.

Lee claims that for about seven months prior to Feb. 1, she was sexually harassed on a regular basis by a male maintenance worker, who allegedly commented about her breasts and butt. Later in that day, she reported the incident to management and was asked by management to report the matter the following work day, she alleges.

On Feb. 12, management called Lee in and asked her where she was on Feb. 6, the complaint states. Lee, according to the lawsuit, could not recall. Management claimed that she was pulled out of service for purportedly not being at her workstation. In fact, Lee claims, management saw her sitting in her car between assignments to keep warm, adding that she was told: "as long as you do the bus, that is alright." On Feb. 18, Lee was told by management that she was fired for abandoning her workstation on Feb. 6, according to the complaint.

Lee is seeking an amount to be determined by the court for pain and suffering, emotional distress, mental anguish and lost income. Lee is represented by Samuel A. Dion of Dion and Goldberger in Philadelphia.
