SCRANTON – A minor is suing the Bushkill Inn for what she claims were permanent injuries suffered when she tripped and fell over a hazard while playing in the Inn’s Star Room.

Rebecca Rand, through her mother Esther Rand, filed a lawsuit on Nov. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District Circuit of Pennsylvania against Bushkill Inn and Conference Center and Pocmont Holdings LLC, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on or about May 16, 2014, Rebecca Rand tripped and fell over a hazard while playing in the Inn’s Star Room, which allegedly caused her a facial wound, scarring and disfigurement. The lawsuit claims that inn management failed to make a reasonable inspection of their premises, when they knew or exercise of ordinary care, should have known, that an inspection was necessary to prevent any injury to Rand.

Rebecca Rand is asking for a judgment in excess of $75,000, plus interest and the cost of the lawsuit. She is represented by Joseph R. Rydzewski of Spall, Rydzewski, Anderson, Lalley & Tunis PC of Hawley.
