HARRISBURG — A motorist is suing Horwith Trucks Inc.; LV Company Inc.; Penn Truck Leasing Inc.; and Laurie E. Boettinger, administratrix of the estate of William Boettinger, Pennsylvania corporations and their truck-driver employee, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Michael Catchings filed a complaint on June 29 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that William Boettinger carelessly operated a tractor-trailer on Interstate 80 and caused a collision.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 30, 2014, he suffered injuries when he was involved in the collision that he claims was caused by Boettinger. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the trucker allegedly failed to properly control his vehicle and timely apply his brakes.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks all damages plus punitive damages. He is represented by Edward J. Ciarimboli and Molly Dempsey of Fellerman & Ciarimboli in Kingston.
