Dental hygienist alleges employers broke wage law, fired her

Wrongful term 06

PHILADELPHIA — A dental hygienist has filed a class-action lawsuit against Dental Care Alliance, L.L.C. and Gentle Dental Allentown L.L.C., former employers, citing alleged retaliation, wrongful termination and violation of wage laws.

Kelly Poburski filed a complaint on July 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against the defendants, alleging that they did not fairly compensate plaintiff for all of her hours worked and fired her in a retaliatory move.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she was not paid proper overtime for hours worked in excess of 40 per week. She hold the defendants responsible because they allegedly violated wage laws and terminated her employment as retaliation for complaining about not getting fairly paid.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back wages and front pay no less than $150,000, compensatory damages and lost benefits, punitive damages, interest, court costs and any further relief the court grants. She is represented by Michael Murphy of Murphy Law Group, LLC in Philadelphia.
