PITTSBURGH — A man has filed a class-action lawsuit against Allegheny Technologies Inc. and Strom Engineering Corporation, claiming violations of wage laws.

Johnny De La Torre filed a complaint on July 22 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania against the defendants alleging that they failed to fairly compensate their employees for all working hours.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was not paid for transportation time and time spent donning and doffing gear, and was not paid for working through lunch, when he was temporarily employed at a factory during a lockout. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to pay proper overtime.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks back pay damages, unpaid overtime compensation, unpaid spread of hours payment and unpaid wages, interest, liquidated damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Shanon J. Carson, Sarah R. Schalman-Bergen, Alexandra K. Piazza, Camille Fundora, and James E. Goodley of Berger & Montague, P.C. in Philadelphia.
