Experian, Equifax accused of reporting false information

PHILADELPHIA -- A Reading man is suing credit reporting agencies for alleged defamation, misrepresentation in debt collection and violation of federal law.

Jordan Bridges filed a complaint on Sept. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Experian Information Solutions Inc., Equifax Information Services LLC and Advanced Collection Bureau Inc., alleging they reported false information regarding his credit score.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that from 2011 to 2016 he suffered damages to his credit score resulting in credit denials and loss of credit and loan opportunities. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to correct inaccurate information pertaining to his credit history.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, an order for the defendant to permanently delete all inaccurate information regarding his credit score, and any further relief the court grants.

He is represented by Brent F. Vullings of Vullings Law Group LLC in Collegeville.
