Woman blames Kuhn's Market, security company for alleged assault

PITTSBURGH -- A woman is suing Youghiogheny Valley Specialty Services LLC and Kuhn's Market Inc., t/d/b/a Kuhn's Market, a market and a company that provided security staff, citing alleged assault.

Latoya Malachi filed a complaint on Sept. 28 in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County against the defendants, alleging the store allowed its security worker to physically assault her.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 6, 2015 she sustained physical injuries from being sprayed with a chemical irritant. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for the alleged assault and for allegedly failing to control the situation when the security worker was physically assaulting the plaintiff.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $35,000.

She is represented by Michael Balzarini of Balzarini & Watson in Pittsburgh.
