Lincoln National Life Insurance Company accused of wrongly denying benefits

Insurance 06

PHILADELPHIA — A man is suing The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, citing alleged breach of contract.

Steven Myers filed a complaint on Oct. 20 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against The Lincoln National Life Insurance Company, alleging that the insurer violated the Employee Retirement Income Security Act by denying his claim for disability benefits.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2015, he became disabled and was initially approved for disability benefits, then denied further benefits in January. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because it allegedly upheld its decision to deny benefits despite the plaintiff's continuing disability according to the terms of the plan.

The plaintiff seeks full and complete payment of his disability benefits with a transition to long-term disability benefits, court costs and interest as well as any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Marc Snyder of Rosen, Moss, Snyder & Bleefeld, LLP in Jenkintown.
