PHILADELPHIA – A Maryland consumer alleges that credit bureaus have been reporting inaccurate information regarding his credit history.
Mark Devon Williams filed a complaint on Oct. 28 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Trans Union LLC, Equifax Information Services LLC and Experian Information Solutions Inc. citing the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that since 2015, he has suffered damages in the form of lost credit opportunities and harm to his credit score. He alleges that the defendants have mixed his credit file with another person of the same name.
The plaintiff holds Trans Union LLC, Equifax Information Services LLC and Experian Information Solutions Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly issued false and derogatory credit information regarding plaintiff's credit history to third parties.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages, statutory damages, punitive damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. He is represented by Mark Mailman and Erin A. Novak of Francis & Mailman PC in Philadelphia.
